Admission for International Students
Application Brochure for Degree Student
I) Course Introduction:
The courses for International Trade (Chinese Program) are classified into two parts. The First Half Term Focuses on intensive listening, speaking, reading, writing and interpretation courses to improve Chinese significantly. English reading and comprehensive English courses, together with Business conversation, Chinese culture, Physical Education courses are also opened to lift quality education.
Second Half Term is designed on the basis that the students have already laid a solid foundation of Chinese, they can choose appropriate courses to study International Trade major courses with Chinese local students. These courses are mainly about basic knowledge and practical training of doing business in China.
 
II) Application kit:
1. Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade: Foreign Student Application Form
2. Graduation Certificate of high school or above
3. Transcript of all course in high school or above
4. HSK Certificate
5. Passport copy
6. 4 Photos (2-inch)
7. Application Fee and tuition
 
III) Application and Visa Application Procedure
1. Submit the application kit before July 30th) to office of School of International Studies.
2. With school approval and check, we will mail JW 202 form (Visa Application for Study in China) and Admission Letter to qualified candidates.
3. Physical examination is required within 3 months at the beginning of semester if the scheduled study phase is longer than 6 months.
4.  With all the above-mentioned documents, you need to go the embassy or consulate to apply for X (study abroad) visa or F (visitor) visa.
5. All the above-mentioned documents should be carefully kept for applying for status of residence after you come to China.
 
IV) Admission Procedure
Students should go to School of International Studies office to register and pay tuition with JW202 form, admission letter, passport, (physical examination results are also required if the scheduled study phase is longer than 6 months) before the deadline. Those who can not register on time with justified reasons should contact us in advance and apply for deferred admission.
 
V) Tuition and other fees
l   Tuition and related fees:
1. Tuition 20000RMB/year
2. Application Fee 1000RMB
3. Enrollment 2500RMB
4. Books: 400RMB
 
l  Accommodation Fee:
Gubei International Exchange Center:
1.Long term: Double Room: 120 RMB /day
             Single Room: 100 RMB /day
2.Short term: Double Room: 200RMB/day
              Single Room: 167RMB/day
Gubei foreign student dormitory: Single Room: 2500 RMB /month
                                 Double Room: 3000 RMB /month
 
l  Airport Pick-up Fee:
Pudong International Airport: 400 yuan
Hongqiao International Airport: 200yuan

I.  Admission Requirements
Deadline of Application: August 31 (Registration will end when applicant number reaches limit)
Application Kit:
1. Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade: Foreign Student Application Form
2. Passport Copy
3. 4 Photos (2-inch)
4. Application Fee
 
II. Application Procedure
1. Submit Application before deadline in any of the following way:
a) Fill the application form and mail the form to the below address
b) Download and fill the form, then submit the form online
c) Come to our school office directly. For further information, feel free to inquire by phone.
2. With school approval and check, we will mail JW 202 form and Admission Letter to qualified candidates.
3. Physical examination is required within 3 months at the beginning of semester if the scheduled study period is over 6 months.
4. With all the above-mentioned documents, you need to go the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General to apply for entry visa.
5. All the above-mentioned documents should be carefully kept for applying for status of residence after you arrive in China.
 
III. Admission Procedure
Students should go to School of International Studies office to register and pay tuition with JW202 form, admission letter, passport, (physical examination report is required if study period is over 6 months) before the deadline. Those who can not register on time with justified causes should contact us in advance and apply for deferred admission.
 
 
V.  Tuition and other Charges
 
1. Regular Chinese Course
Tuition: 8000RMB/Term
        
Application Fee: 400RMB
 
2. Accommodation Fee
Gubei Campus
a) International Exchange Center (Guesthouse)
Double room: Short term: 200RMB/day
             : Long term: 120RMB/day
Single room: Short term 167RMB/day
            : Long term 100RMB/day
b) Foreign student dormitory
 Double room: 3000RMB/month
 Single room: 2500RMB/month
 
3. Airport Pick-up Fee
Pudong International Airport 400RMB
Hongqiao International Airport 200RMB
 
VI.  Scholarship
 
Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship is offered to long-term foreign students:
 
Scholarship A: 40,000 RMB/year
               (for master degree students)
Scholarship B: 20,000 RMB/year
               (for bachelor degree students)
Scholarship C: 2,000 – 8,000 RMB/year
               (for one-year or above language students)
 
Any foreign student who is qualified to apply for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship will be verified by SIFT and the one who is ratified will be awarded.
 
School of International Studies offers three levels of awards to encourage foreign students.  Any of the above foreign student who is nominated by the class teacher will be verified and the one who is ratified will be awarded.
