Ⅰ. TYPES OF CLASSES
ⅰ) Chinese Classes
a) Short-term programs for six months in intensive and accelerated Chinese-teaching programs. Courses include Basic Chinese Listening & Speaking. The purpose is to improve basic language skills by listening and speaking and to write simple Chinese articles independently.
b) One to three years long-term programs include level from elementary, intermediate to advanced level. Courses include: Elementary Chinese, Elementary Listening, Elementary Speaking, Elementary Reading, Elementary Writing, Intermediate Spoken Chinese, Intermediate Writing, Advanced Chinese, Advanced Listening, Advanced Spoken Chinese and Business Writing will be adapted respectively to the teaching materials. After completing the programs, the students will reach a high Chinese communication level.
We also offer the following programs:
Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Painting, Chinese Cooking, Tai Ji, Muscle Arts, Chinese Music Instruments and Folk Music, Chinese Medicine and Herbal Studies
A seven-to-ten day study tour is offered each semester in order to better understand and appreciate Chinese culture and traditions. The tour will consist of visiting famous scenic and historical sites. A special out-of-class activity such as Chinese films, Beijing Opera, learning Chinese songs or sporting events will be scheduled as available.
The students will obtain certificates showing programs completed and passed at the end of their study.
ⅱ).Specialty Classes
Students who pass the grade-3 Chinese level Test of People’s Republic of China (HSK) can apply for undergraduate study in SJZU and will be able to obtain a Certificate or a Bachelor’s Degree if they get all credits required. Student who have earned a Bachelor’s Degree and passed grade-7 HSK may apply for graduate study and will be able to obtain a Certificate or a Master’s Degree when they complete their programs, pass the final examination and complete their academic thesis.
Ⅱ. Deadline for application
Long-term programs:
International students: 1st, Jan (for spring semester)
30th , July (for fall September)
Short-term programs: at least 1 month before class
We view application and issue offer in a rolling status. The earlier the application arrived, the earlier we will evaluate it and issue offer.
Ⅲ. Entrance Qualifications
A). Senior middle graduation or graduation from school with similar qualifications or higher graduation.
B). Good physical condition is required for admission (SJZU reserves the right of refusal or dismissal on the grounds of health).
C). Enrollment Procedure
a). You may contact the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of SJZU by mail, fax or e-mail to request brochure and application form.
b). Send the completed application form, a copy of senior middle school diploma to SJZU.
c). When approved, SJZU will send form and Admission Notice to the student or his agent.
d). The student should submit the formal Visa Application form, physical examination report and AIDS test report and passport to the Embassy or the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in student’s home country.
Ⅳ. Fees
Charges are calculated on the basis of length of study and type of programs. Those who plan to study here for one year or longer can go through health and safety insurance with the help of the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation when they enter the University. Registration and tuition should be paid before entrance.

Note:
The Shenyang Jianzhu University will provide the life insurance to each student. Meals should be sponsored by students themselves. Charge for the seven to ten day Study Tour described in the teaching schedule, as well as the teaching materials, are actual costs.
