Yunnan University of Finance & Economics (YUFE) is a multi-disciplinary university. It is not only strong in economics, management and law, but also offers philosophy, liberal arts, natural science and engineering education. The university is approved to confer Bachelor’s degrees and Master’s degrees.
YUFE was founded in 1951 and it was appointed one of the provincial key institutes by the Yunnan Provincial Government in 1995.
YUFE has set up 17 teaching departments in total, including the School of Finance, School of Business Administration, International Business School and other schools. YUFE has 28 undergraduate specialties, including eight provincial key disciplines and four officially sanctioned provincial key subjects. Moreover, YUFE has four first-class disciplines entitled to grant Masters’ degrees, namely, theoretical economics, applied economics, management science & engineering and business administration. There are other 40 second-class disciplines entitled to grant Masters` degrees in YUFE.
YUFE enroll students from more than 20 provinces and cities from all over China. It has over 12,000 full time undergraduates and postgraduates. The total number of students is about 24,000 students including part-time students, international students and adult students.
The teaching force of YUFE consists of over 1,300 faculty members including 787 full-time lecturers. Among them, there are more than 300 professors or associate professors and 70 Doctors.
YUFE occupies an area of 1021mu (68 hectares) with about 634,000 square meters of floor area. The University Library has a collection of 1.4 million books. Besides teaching, academic research has a key role in the university.
