North University of China (NUC), formerly known as North China Institute of Technology (1993-2004) and Taiyuan Institute of Machinery (1958-1992), is located in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province.
NUC is a multi-disciplinary university, encompassing engineering, science, liberal arts, economics, management, law, and education.
NUC occupies an area of 170 hectares, neighboring beautiful scenery of green mountains and a murmuring river.
NUC consists of 13 schools and is authorized by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to offer 26 Ph.D programs, 82 Master programs and 62 Bachelor programs. There are over 2385 working staff at NUC, of which 5 are academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering. Full time enrollment stands at 28 000, including 3 000 Ph.D. and Master Candidates.
NUC features 16 State, Provincial or Ministerial key disciplines and houses State, Provincial, or Ministerial key laboratories, bases, and research centers, and NUC National Science Park.
