Major Introduction The major Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Economic and Trade Direction) was founded in 2000. The cultivation objective is to stand out the character that is business Chinese knowledge and its practice ability. Attending this course, the foreign students can become senior professionals with Chinese and English languages proficiency to manage economic and trade business.
Main Courses Introduction to Modern Chinese, Chinese phonetics, Chinese lexics, Modern Chinese Grammar, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Chinese Literature History, Business Chinese, Translation Introduction, Business Translation

English-taught International Finance
Master & Doctor Program
Finance School of SUFE has a high-level faculty and cultivates undergraduate students, master degree students and PhD candidates. In 1996 and 2001, finance subjects are selected as key subjects in the Education Committee of Shanghai Government. Finance subjects have a good reputation and a great influence in academic research field. There are International Finance Master & PhD Program which are open to international students. Except for the language courses, all the other courses in the program are taught in English. The thesis and thesis defense are also going to be done in English. The total time for master program is two years, and doctoral program is three years. Every year the master program will accept about 15 students and PhD program can accept 5 students.
I Courses
Master Program: Chinese Economic Issues，Chinese Language，Microeconomics，Macroeconomics，Mathematics for Economics，Money and Banking，International Finance Management，Theory of International Finance，Econometrics，Investment， Exchange Rate Economics，Financial Engineering，Chinese Culture.
Doctor Program: Chinese Language, Political Economics, A General Introduction of China, Advanced International Macroeconomics, Advanced Financial Econometrics, Seminar on International Finance, Issues on Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and Research on Foreign Exchange Markets.
II Period of Study: Master program: 2 years；Doctor program: 3 years
III Application period: April 1st to May 30th 2010(Apply through internet and mail the application materials to be received before May.30th 2010.)
VI Admission
Entrance Examination is held in late June. Two ways for entrance exams: ①Interview ②Written exam and Interview.
The qualified applicant, who submitted all necessary documents, will be informed to take exam or interview by the Admission Office ICES-SUFE.
Qualified applicants can be accepted after passing the examinations. International Cultural Exchange School of SUFE will, within 15 working days, mail the Applicant the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students (JW202 Form) and Admission Notice.
