In the morning, you will have a tricycle Hutong tour to explore the traditional life style of Beijing local people. The tour includes the visit of a local family, a kindergarten and the Bell Tower, which was the only time counter 500 years ago and rang only at morning. This tour will give you a deep impression of the local people’s daily life, especially that of retired people.
You will have Chinese dumpling lunch with other local dishes cooked by the housewife at a quadrangle.
After lunch, you will be driven to Da-zha-lan Old street which has 580 years’ history. This old street was the busiest market in the past. Even now, , countless small souvenir stores are filled with various gifts.
And then, you will explore another culture street Liulichang, which was the gathering venue for literatis in the old time. Some shops were famous for the fidelity of copy editions of famous picture and calligraphy masterpieces.

Today will be a full day exploration to the Old Beijing Folk Culture Base. In the morning, 1 hour driving will take you to Wanping City. A well protected outer wall makes it a mini city inside Beijing. Marco Polo Bridge here is the oldest bridge in Beijing built in 800 years ago. This bridge was praised by Marco Polo “the most beautiful marble bridge”.
The rest of day will be the culture base tour. A lecture will be given to help you to get some idea of the old Beijing quadrangle. You can see many vivid clay-made figures, such as the officer, heaver, barber, vender and etc. You can also play the traditional games, learn to make lantern and kite by yourself. Lunch will be the old Beijing noodle as well as some local snack.
