Day 01: Arrive in Chengdu, be met at the airport, transfer to hotel.  O/N in Chengdu.
If time permits, visit the Kuanxiangzi (wide lane) and Zhaixiangzi (narrow lane), it used to be home to officials in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and are among the city's cultural heritage sites still intact today. Originally, single-story houses and courtyards featured the specialty of the area. To relive the taste of local life years ago, teahouses and folk arts are readily found in the area while displays of the lifestyle, dialects, food and customs of Chengdu in the past will be reinstated in museums. As an option in the evening(200RMB extra), enjoy a wonderful variety show of “Face changing” and “Flame Spitting - Out” of Sichuan Opera. 

Day 02: Chengdu Panda Base and Sanxindui Museum    O/N in Chengdu (500m)
Visit The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in the morning. It is located in the northern suburb of Chengdu on Futou Hill about 10 km from downtown Chengdu. Giant pandas live in large naturalistic habitats, which help the visitor to understand how these animals live in the wild. The Research Base is one of the important centers in China for the captive conservation of giant pandas. After lunch, we drive 40km to visit Sanxindui Museum, it is situated in the northeastern part of the state-protected Sanxindui ruin by the bank of the Yazi Rive. Two large sacrificial pits were found in 1986 boast the most important archaeological finds on the Sanxindui Ruins for the past half century. The exposure of a large number of spectacular relics created a great sensation, making the Sanxindui site well known to the world. 

Day 03: Chengdu -340km- Hailuogou (Moxi County) ( 6 hrs)   O/N in Hailuogou(2980m)
Drive along the express way for 140 km to Ya’an, then drive for 210 km, passing Tiaquan, Erlang Moountain, to Hailuogou (Moxi County in the foot of Mt. Mingya Gonggar). Stay at base No.2. Take a bath in the hot spring. The Hailuogou Valley that lies at the foot of Gongga Mountain is world-famous for the modern glacier in low altitude (the glaciers in the world mostly lay in the region of high altitude). The sparkling modern glacier rushes down from the high and steep valley, spraying millions of water blooms, changing the quite valley into a pure water palace. Ice holes and ice Bridge make people feel like entering into a Crystal Palace.

Day 04: Hailuogou -110km- Kangding(3 hrs)   O/N in Kangding town (2600m)
Drive to No.3 Base Camp, walk through the virgin forest, get to the Gongga Glacier. Then drive from Luding to Kangding, You will arrive at Kangding - the capital city of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the afternoon. Upon arrive visit Anjue monastery, experience the mysterious Tibetan Buddhism. After dinner, enjoy the hot spring at Erdaoqiao.

Day 05: Kangding -45km- Mt. Zheduo -30km- Xindu Bridge -75km- Yajiang(6 hrs)   O/N in Yajiang (2700m) ,
Depart Kangding after breakfast, cross the Mt. Zheduo at a elevation of 4200m, visit the Xindu Bridge which famed for the scenery, and pass the Mt. Gaoershi, arrive Yajiang in the afternoon. Approximately 6 hours drive with 150km tarred road, overnight in Yjiang hotel, one of the best local hotels (after a major redecoration, the rooms are precisely reached 2-3 star hotel standard, air-conditioned and with independent water closet), the elevation of day 1 and day 2 are fairly low for making tourists adapt with the forthcoming higher. (B+L+D).

Day 06: Yajiang -143km- Litang -150km- Daocheng -70km- Riwa(8 hrs), O/N in Riwa (Shangrila) village(3000m. )
Drive to Daocheng after breakfast, cross the Mt. Jianziwan, Mt. Kaizila and Litang, Daocheng grassland, see the famous Mt. Haizi. In this route, we see the spectacular Sichuan-Tibet Highway, snow mountain, plateau glacier and grassland. There is approximately 6-7 hours drive for the Yajiang to Daocheng 300km road, besides the 40km gravel road of Litang - Daocheng, the rest is all tarred. Daocheng - Riwa (Shangrila) village, although 80km gravel road, however the roadbed is perfect, it drives approximately 1.5 hours. Overnight in local Tibetan style guesthouse, 2-4 people a room not air-conditioned and independent water closet equipped. .(B+L+D)

Day 07: Riwa (Shangrila) village - Chonggu Temple - Luorong Pasture - Riwa, O/N in Riwa (3700m)
After breakfast, drive to the portal of Yading Nature Reserve, horse-riding to Chonggu Temple, see the scenery of Chonggu Temple and holy peak Xiannairi, and continued ride to Luorong Pasture, see the another holy peak Yangmaiyong, Xiannairi and Luorong Pasture (the round horse-riding cost exclude, approximately RMB130/p.p), back the Yading village, then drive back to Riwa.
 Nature Reserve Yading (Nyiden in Tibetan) about 80 km. As it is not so easy to attain this wild mountain area, the number of tourists is still small and the conditions still quite pristine. This area shares together with Zhongdian the reputation of being the famous Shangri La Country. The snow-covered mountains are the domiciles of the gods in the Tibetan mythology. After the introduction of the Buddhism, several of these mountains have been dedicated to Boddhisatvas in the 8th century. For example the three Sacred Mountains in this reservation. The highest mountain with an altitude of 6,032 m is the Chenrezig (with several Chinese onomatopoeic names like Sa nei ri or Xian nai ri and so on). It is dedicated to the Boddhisatva Avalokiteshvara and is encircled by the pilgrim path. The two vicinal mountains are the Chanadorje (or Xia nuo duo li in Chinese) with an altitude of 5,958 m, which is dedicated to the Boddhisatva Vajrapani, and the Jambeyang (or Yang mai yong in Chinese), likewise 5,958 m high, which stands for the Boddhisatva Manjushri.

Day 08: Riwa -110km-Xiangcheng-161km-Derong(total 271km, total time 7 hrs)  O/N in Derong (2100m)
After a round tour through Riwa, the about 370 km long drive leads to Derong, passing Daocheng, Sangdui and Xiangcheng. In Sangdui, you will visit the Pengbo Monastery of the white religious group of the Tibetan Buddhism (Kagyupa), which is located at a lake amidst the treeless steppe. On the way to Xiangcheng, you will visit another Tibetan Village and get to know the lives there. Xiangcheng (2,836 m above sea level) is a small village with whitewashed Tibetan houses, which look like small fortresses and are spread between the fields in the valley.


Day 09: Derong -210km- Deqing (4.5 hrs)   O/N in Deqing(3400m)
Derong is a Tibetan word, which means kloof . This term refers to the deep canyon, which ranges in North-South direction, and in which a tributary stream of the Yangtze flows. This section of the Yangtze is called Jingsha (Golden Sand) River. On the further run, the road turns into the Valley of the Yangtze, which will leave at the border of the Yunnan province.

Meili Snow Mountain, also known as Prince Snow Mountain, is located 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) northeast of Deqin County of Yunnan Province. The mountain sits on the border of Yunnan Province and Tibet, where the three famous rivers, namely the Jinsha, Mekong (Nu) and Salwen (Lancang) flow.Meili Snow Mountain boasts numerous snow-clad ridges and peaks, thirteen of which exceed 6,000 meters (19.685 feet) above the sea level. The most splendid view is of the Kawagebo Peak, the highest in Yunnan Province rising about 6,740 meters (22,112.86 feet). It is still a 'virgin peak' for no one has ever reached the top. Thus, Meili Snow Mountain is a challenge for all mountain explorers from home and abroad.

Visitors are treated to spectacular view from all vantage points. The continuous mountain ridges feature snowy peaks and the sun throws golden lights on the low-floating clouds which form various extraordinary shapes, affording yet another splendid view! But mostly, the mountain presents itself as mystery when dense fog and clouds made it a gleaming sight to see and you could hardly resist the temptation to unveil it. You can have a panoramical view of the thirteen towering peaks from the Feilai Temple

Day 10:Deqing-184km-Zhongdian(total distance 184 km, total time 7hrs)   O/N in Zhongdian (3200m)
After nine months of intensive research, at the end of the year 2001, it was proven that the area around Zhongdian, the capital of the autonomous Tibetan area Deqing, is the Shangri La County of the novel “Lost Horizon”. It was written by James Hilton in 1933 according to narrations of the famous geographer Joseph Rock, who lived in this area for many years. At last, the area got the official name Shangri La. Zhongdian, which is also called as Gyltang, with altitude of 3300m, once we arrive in this bright town of highland, we are going to visit the Suntseling monastery - The largest Tibetan Buddhist complex in Zhongdian prefecture, and currently there are 700 monk, it has appearance of a small monastic town, and was originally constructed during the 17th century at advice of Dalai Lama V.

Day 11: Zhongdian-200km-Lijiang.   O/N in Lijiang (2400m)
On the way to Lijiang, we are going to stop at the Tiger Leaping Gorge, and then onward to Lijiang, which is the center of the Naxi people, a relatively small minority group with a rich culture. Old Lijiang is an intimate mountain town of stone and tile, laced with swift canals and who has been put recently on the list of the world monument protected by UNESCO.

Day 12: Sightseeing: Shuhe Old Town,Mu Emperor’s Palace, Lion Hill,Baisha Village. O/N in Lijiang (2400m)
In the morning We'll head for Shuhe Old Town,which is the relic of the Tea-Horse Trading Caravan from bank of Mekong River to India via Tibet. We are planning to walk from Long Quan (Drangon Spring) in Shuhe Old Town to Baisha Village, we will visit the the Naxi family and Baisha Muralin Baisha village. Lunch at “Just Here Restaurant” in Baisha Street. After lunch drive back to Lijiang and visit the Wangu Pagoda on the top of the Lion Hill, here you will have a wonderful panoramic view of Lijiang Old Town. We will walk down from the Lion Hill to Mu Emperor’s Palace which is the local chieftain’s former residence. After dinner, we will attend the Naxi Orchestral and Show in Dongba Palace in the Lijiang Old Town(Optional program, extra 160CNY).

Day 13: Drop off to the airport, service end !
