The School of Television and Journalism is made up of the Department of Television, the Department of Journalism and the Department of Communication. The Department of Television, whose predecessor is Television Press Photography major, is regarded as the earliest and most reputable professional television education institution in China. Over the past 40 years, Television Editing, Radio and Television Journalism and Editing & Publishing Science among 4 bachelor’s programs set up by the Department of Television have been ranking tops in China. The Television photography major marked its brilliance in the history of China’s television education by having trained more than 30 provincial TV Station (associate) Controllers. The predecessor of the Department of Journalism and the Department of Communication is the Department of Journalism, which was one of the earliest-established departments for journalism education.
The Department of Journalism and the Department of Communication own 5 research institutes/centers (Research Institute of Journalism, Research Institute of Journalism and Communication Psychology, Research Center of Party newspapers and journals, Research Institute of Investigation and Statistics, Research Center of Creative Media), 5 laboratories (Broadcast Laboratory, Television Laboratory, Network Laboratory, Newspaper Lay-out Laboratory, Adobe Creative Media Laboratory). Since the establishment of the departments, many graduates have become advanced management personnel and excellent main employees in China television broadcast system.

Entry Requirements
Applicants for undergraduate study should complete the Communication University of China Application Form for Foreign Students and the Warranty and provide the copy paper of certificate of completion of senior high school studies, transcript and the English version that has been notarized and the examination certificate of Chinese Language HSK grade 6.
Applicants for master’s degree should complete the Communication University of China Application Form for Foreign Students and the Warranty and provide the copy paper of Bachelor’s diploma, transcript and the English version that has been notarized, at least two recommendation letters (the original) issued by associate professors or above and the examination certificate of Chinese Language HSK grade 8.
Applicants for doctorate degree should complete the Communication University of China Application Form for Foreign Students and the Warranty and provide the copy paper of master’s degree diploma, transcript and the English version that has been notarized, at least two recommendation letters (the original) issued by associate professors or above and the examination certificate of Chinese Language HSK grade 8.
