Education Programs:
◆ One-year Chinese Language Program
 The basic courses for one-year program include intensive reading, speaking, listening, reading and writing. Besides, there are a variety of elective courses such as Chinese culture, folk dance, calligraphy, painting, tea, Chinese martial arts, Tai Chi, HSK counseling. The international students may choose to study in classes of different levels, such as primary, intermediate, advanced ones after having taken a brief placement test (HSK). The average number of students in each class is about 15-20.
◆ One-semester (or shorter) Chinese Language Program
The curriculum of the program is flexible to meet all kinds of needs, such as Chinese teacher-training classes, travel classes of Chinese language and culture, New HSK training classes (Grades1,2,3,4,5,6), summer camp, winter camp, vacation classes and other special classes for different purposes.
◆ Four-year Program
The University provides different disciplines for international students who meet the requirements of school entrance. Courses are offered according to students’ majors at the college.
Entry requirements:
1. Any foreigners and descendents of overseas Chinese with good health and interested in Chinese language and culture may come and study in the university if he/she is ready to be abide by Chinese laws and school regulations during their stay in China.
2. The one who possesses a high school diploma or the equivalence may apply for science majors with HSK(New) score of 3 or above, or apply for liberal arts majors with HSK(New) scores of 4 or above.

Scholarship:
Hainan Normal University offers two kinds of scholarship for international students:
A. Confucius-Institute-Scholarship granted by Hanban/ Confucius Institute Headquarters.
 
B. Hainan Normal University Scholarship for International Students
The applicant who meets one of the following conditions has access to some amount of Hainan Normal University Scholarships:
1. Student who has been granted the Confucius-Institute-Scholarship and completes the program but still want to continue study in Hainan Normal University by self-financed.
2. Descendants of the overseas Chinese who come and study at Hainan Normal University by self-financed.
3. Self-financed Student who has studied at the College of International Cultural Exchange in Hainan Normal University for one year or more achieves “Excellence” academically and wants to continue study.
 
Deadline for Application / Date of Entrance:
1. Spring school:   Entry date is on 25, Feb.; School begins on March 1.
2. Autumn school: Entry date is on 25, Aug.; School begins on September 1st.
3. Those who arrive at mid-term time may register at any time and will be arranged to the class suitable for his/her level of Chinese.
4. For other short-term programs, school begins according to the time planned.
 
Admission:
1. Application may be done by sending mail, fax, or e-mail. The Application Form is available either by contacting directly the college or downloading from the web.
2. The application form, copy of health certificate, passport copy should be faxed or mailed to the Office of College of International Cultural Exchange, Hainan Normal University.
3. Visa formalities should be done at Chinese Embassy or Consulate General with the Admission Letter, Visa Notice, JW202 Form, Health Certificate and Personal Passport. If you miss the time to apply for a study visa, you may come to school with a travel visa temporarily and change the visa afterwards in China.
4. Please inform the college your flight and the arrival time earlier so that you’ll be picked up at the airport (free).
5. Freshmen are supposed to register at the office of the College of International Culture Exchange with fees and 8 photos (3x4cm) the following day after one’s arrival at the university.
