Tour Schedule:
Day 1: Arrive in Beijing
Our well-trained English-speaking tour guide & private coach will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel, take a good rest in the hotel on your own.
At 6:30 pm, be picked up and transfer to the restaurant where welcome dinner will be served. Be transferred back to the hotel afterwards.
Meal: Dinner
Day 2: City tour + local family visit + Acrobatic Show
Hotel pick-up at 8:30 am, then take a tour to the Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City, later on, drive to Hutong area (traditional part of Beijing) to visit a local family and learn how to make dumpling with host/hostess, then enjoy traditional lunch with your dumpling.
In the afternoon, sit on rickshaw to experience the ancient Hutong alleys and climb up on 700-year old Bell tower – offers a bird view of the traditional part of Beijing.
Dinner will be arranged at 6:00 pm, then enjoy the famous acrobatic show.
Be transferred back to the hotel at 9:00 pm

Day 3: Great wall hiking & camping
Hotel check-out & pick-up at 9:00 am. 2 - 2.5 hour drive to Gubeikou Great Wall which is the starting point for the 3-4 hour hike. Upon arrival, short break first. You will then be lead by both our guide and local guide to hike from Gubeikou to Jinshanling Great Wall. A light picnic lunch on the Great Wall will be offered.
Arrive at Jinshanling in the afternoon. Rest in the village for a while. This is a good opportunity to take photos in and around the village. Dinner will be arranged in a local farmer's house.
Before sunset, continue to hike eastward for an hour or so, then stop at some watch towers where we will stay overnight. Please note you will sleep how the soldiers did during the ancient dynasties, inside the watch tower in a sleeping bag!

Watch tower: these are small room-like buildings which stand along the Great Wall. They may have been used as storehouses, with sleeping room for soldiers and for them to watch out for enemies.

Day 4: Jinshanling to Simatai
Enjoy the breathtaking sunrise on the Great Wall followed by a light breakfast. Continue to hike to Simatai for 4 hours. Lunch will be arranged in a restaurant near a parking lot.
After lunch, drive back to your Beijing hotel. Hotel rest before dinner.
Dinner at 6:30 pm.

Day 5: University + city tour
Hotel pick-up at 8:30 am, then drive to the famous Temple of Heaven – the place where emperors performed worship and prayer for good harvest in the Ming (1368-1644) & Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
Later on, go on visit to the Peking University, enjoy 1.5 hours tour at the campus, tour including to the famous museum called Sackler Museum and Weiming Lake, if time permit, pay a visit to the tomb of the famous American writer called "Edgar Snow".
Lunch at a restaurant nearby, then drive to Summer Palace – the largest imperial garden in the existence in China, where Emperor & Empress to spent the hot summer days.
Tour in the Summer Palace for 1.5 hours, then transfer back to the Hotel,
Dinner at 6:30.

Day 6: Departure
Hotel check-out & pick-up based on your flight details, then transfer to the airport to catch your flight home/next destination.

Note:
There are more than 4 million vehicles in Beijing, and it is said that approximately 30,000 cars are sold every month, so heavy traffic is constant in the city (Rush Hours from 7:30-9:30 in the morning and 16:30-19:30 in the afternoon). We will try our best to tour according to the timetable, but we cannot guarantee that traffic will not delay our schedule. Our tour guide will notify you if a delay occurs.
There will be an extended amount of walking during this tour, therefore it is recommended that you wear sport shoes and clothes which are suitable for outdoor activities.
On day 3 & 4, there will be 3-5 hours Great Wall hiking each day, please be sure to drink plenty water and maintains in a good healthy condition, if any problems, please let your guide know in advance.
Camping notes:
It might be a bit cold in the evening and early morning, warm clothes are recommended to bring some.
In the event of rain, accommodation will be arranged in a local courtyard hotel or farmer's house nearby the Great Wall instead of camping.
