School of Art & Design, which is the most dynamic college with distinctive running characteristics in NCU, has under it Music Department, Department of Dance and Performing, Department of Art and design and Department of Industrial Design. Currently more than 110 post-graduate students and 2,600 undergraduate students study in the college. The college has two master’s degree authorization centers of Artistic Design and Fine Arts and engineering master’s degree authorization center of Industrial Design. Meanwhile, The German viola performer of chamber music, music educators, and professor of Chinese People’s Liberation Army was specially appointed as the college president. The college has powerful teaching resource with 22 full professors and 41 associate professors. Foreign experts are invited by college president to teach here for a long run, while famous professors at home and abroad are also invited to give lectures here as honored and guest professor.

College of Art and Design is situated in the artistic building of totally 4.7 square meters which is well equipped with central air-conditioning, elevator, a music hall with 600 seats, a concert hall of chamber music with 200 seats, two chamber music halls with 160 seats for each, two chamber music halls with 60 seats for each, one hundred individual piano rooms and dancing rehearsal rooms, academic lecture hall, non-linear editing (animation) studio, MIDI studio, broadcasting and hosting studio, live broadcasting room, television hall, HP graphic workstation, operating room of Apple computer, man-machine engineering laboratory, model studio, packaging studio, inspecting room of indoor material, studio of fashion design, sculpture studio, porcelain studio, painting studio, studio of glass art, teaching facility like recording and reproducing loudspeaker of multimedia combination, as well as the advanced postgraduate studio in China.
