The School of Forestry is the most distinctive school in the Northeast Forestry University. The school has 2 first-level post-doctoral mobile research centers for Forestry and Biology and 10 second-lever doctoral programs, among which Ecology, Forest Protection, Forest Tree Genetics and Breeding, Silviculture, Forest Management and Soil and Water Conservation and Desertification Combating are national key disciplines. Besides, there are 3 master programs: Pedology, Sitiology and Environmental Science. Currently the School of Forestry has 1,241 undergraduates, 787 master candidates, 130 doctoral candidates and 16 postdoctoral researchers.
The School of Forestry has a China National Ecosystem Observation Station of Heilongjiang Maoer Mountain Forest Ecological System, a Key Laboratory of Forest Tree Genetic Improvement and Biotechnology of Ministry of Education, 2 open research laboratories of State Forestry Administration of Biology of Forest Diseases and Insect Pests and Cultivation of Northeast Forest Resources, 3 provincial key laboratories of Biology of Forest Diseases and Insect Pests, Cultivation of Northeast Forest Resources and Forest Tree Genetics and Breeding, 2 outdoors experimental stations of Laoshan Artificial Forest and Jianla Valley Forestry Cultivation, a Forestry Comprehensive Experiment Education Center, 2 research centers of Environmental Evaluation and Northeast Forest-nursery Technical Service, and 4 research institutes, namely Korean Pine Research Institute, North Medicine Research Institute, Research Institute of Forest investigation and Programming and Forest Conservation Research Institute.
Now the School of Forestry has 152 faculty, among whom 46 are professors, 45 are associate professors/researchers/ senior engineers, and 79 have got a doctoral degree. There are 43 doctor tutors, 79 master tutors, 1 academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and 10 visiting professors.

Entry Requirements
Undergraduates: Be above 18 years old and under the age of 35, senior high school graduate, HSK3 certificate or above, the copy of score list, in good health.
Master candidates: Have Bachelor’s degree or above, under the age of 40, HSK3 certificate or above, the copy of score list and diploma, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good health.
Doctor candidates: Have Master’s degree or above, under the age of 40, the copy of score list and diploma, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good health.
