Day 1 Chengdu-Urumqi
Arrive at Shuangliu International Airport, fly to the capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region---Urumqi. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 2 Tianchi Lake (B+L+D)
Take a bus to Tianchi Lake in the morning, enjoy the beautiful view of Tianchi Lake, watch Mt.Bogda in the distance. In the afternoon visit Erdaqiao Bazar, which is a big market with various kinds of local food, specialties, clothes and handiworks.
Day 3 Urumqi-Turpan-Dunhuang (B+L+D)
Take a train to the World’s First Lowland---Turpan, passing through Dabancheng District, the world’s largest wind power base, Dabancheng grasslands and salt lake, China’s Dead Sea. Take a bus to visit the Flame Mountain, karez---one of the three great projects in ancient China, Ganchang cultural heritage city--- the largest cultural heritage city in ancient western region, the Grape Valley, which is 10 kilometers long and 0.5 kilometers wide. Then take a hard sleeper train to Dunhuang.
Day 4 Dunhuang- The Mogao Grottoes (B+L)
Arrive at Dunhuang, visit Mogao Grottoes – the oldest Buddhist Holy Land of China and one of China’s three grotto art treasure troves, wonders in the desert—the Mingsha Mountain and the Crescent Moon Spring.
Day 5 Duanghuang-Jiayuguan-Lanzhou (B+L+D)
Take a bus to Jiayuguan---the western starting point of the Great Wall, enjoying the view of Qilian Mountain and the Gobi on the way. Then go to visit Yeguangbei Square. In the evening take a hard sleeper train to Lanzhou.
Day 6 Lanzhou-Xining (B+L+D)
Arrive at Lanzhou, take a bus to Xining, visit Qinghai Lake, enjoying Riyue Mountain and Daotang River on the way. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 7 Xining-Lanzhou-Chengdu (B+L)
After breakfast visit Kumbum Monastery---one of the six major temples of Yellow Sect. Take a train to Lanzhou and then fly back to Chengdu. Journey ends.
