The School of International Business & Management of Shanghai University was established in May 1999 by combining with the former School of International Business, School of Economic Management and the Departments of Public Administration and Literature & Information Management of the School of Arts.
The School has 6 first-level subjects that belong to the two major categories of Economics and Management. They are Theoretical Economics, Practical Economics, Business Administration, Management Science and Engineering, Public Administration, and Library Intelligence & Archives. Currently, it has one first-level subject doctoral program and 4 Master programs, 15 second-level programs, MBA, MPM and 13 bachelor degree programs. The subjects are completely and ideally distributed.
There are 171 teachers including 1 academician, 34 professors, 63 associate professors in the school. The faculty is strongly committed to teaching and research. They have been following the frontier development of economic areas and persistently undertaking research projects of originality. The research ability and academic standards of the School have been greatly promoted.
The School has undertaken active international and regional cooperation. It has established cooperative relationship with universities and research institutes of U.S., Canada, Australia, France, Finland, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong, in the forms of visiting, lecturing, students exchange and joint-research. Every year, the School sends abroad faculty members and students for advanced training, academic visit and participating in international conferences and seminars, invites overseas scholars to Shanghai University for lecturing, academic exchanges and joint researches. It often organizes international or regional academic conferences. The exchange of lecturers and students, cooperation education, joint research, co-hosted academic symposiums have brought about positive and profound effects on talent fostering, faculty training, educational reform and scientific research.

Application time
For Bachelor’s degree, the duration for application is from March1 to June 30. The academic year begins on September 1.
For Master’s degree and Doctoral degree, the time for application is from January to February for the spring semester, from June to July for the autumn semester.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: the applicants should have senior high school diploma, aged from 18-60, academic records, and HSK4 certificate or above.
For Master’s degree: the applicants should have Bachelor’s degree, aged from 18-60, 2 recommendation letters from two associate professors or above, in good health and HSK4 certificate or above.
For Doctoral degree:the applicants should have Master’s degree, aged from 18-60, 2 recommendation letters from two associate professors or above, in good health and HSK4 certificate or above.
