GXUT is a comprehensive university with engineering as its main focus. Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges is in charge of all the foreign affairs of the university. At present, the university has signed agreements for academic cooperation and exchanges with more than 10 foreign universities. The university has invited overseas experts and scholars to give lectures and to be its visiting professors. Every year, teachers are sent abroad for academic exchanges and further study.
Since 1997, the university has enrolled overseas students from European countries and North America. Presently, the university is carrying out the educational cooperation and exchanges programs with Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland and Staffordshire University in the UK, etc.
With its efforts for extensive international cooperation and exchanges, GXUT has enhanced its reputation in the world and has produced good results in improving its capacity of teaching and scientific research. The Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges will spare no effort for the cooperation and exchanges with overseas universities towards the goal of developing GXUT into a more comprehensive institution.
School-running Features
Exploring Liuzhou’s production advantage on automobiles and auto parts, the university has established long-term cooperation relations with some famous enterprises, such as SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd, which is the largest manufacturer of mini-car in China, Liuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd, whose loaders’ production and sales volumes come top one in the world, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd., which produces the first medium-sized diesel car in China and ranks the third place in the production and sales of medium-sized trucks in China, etc. In addition, the university has trained a great number of management and technology talents for these enterprises.
GXUT has jointly set up 11 off-campus teaching labs with advanced equipment and more than 100 off-campus teaching practice bases with enterprises in Liuzhou, involving the fields of automobile performance, automobile bodies, food technology, etc. This is the unique school-running model of our university. These labs and bases provide sufficient support for fostering students' practice ability. The university has established more than 10 institutions for scientific research, such as the Laser Technology Research Institute, the Automobile Engineering Research Institute, the Numerical and Laser Integration Research Center.

2. Overseas Student’s Dormitory (for 4 students): RMB160 /person /month, with toilet, shower, TV, etc.
Living expenses: Liuzhou is a comfortable city for all the local residents and visitors. Living expenses here are low but of good quality. Usually USD 80-150 is enough for an overseas student to stay in Liuzhou for a month, including apartment and food.
