Founded in 1941 Hebei Normal University of Science and Technology is a public provincial university in China which is qualified to recruit international students. HNUST was authorized to grant bachelor’s degrees in 1977. In 1999 HNUST was authorized by Chinese Ministry of Education to be one of the first key bases for training teachers of vocational education and was also granted the title of Demonstration School for National Language Standardization by State Language Commission.
Now HNUST consists of Qinhuanggao Campus Changli Campus E &A College and Campus at the Developing Zone and is well-equipped with modern and top teaching facilities---with 1900 acres 500 000m² teaching building teaching and research instruments and equipments worth of RMB1000000000 and 1200000 books in the library.
The university has approximately 24000 full-time students and offers disciplines covering science liberal arts engineering agriculture law education economics and management. Over the past half of the century it has cultivated numerous talents and many of them have been greatly recognized for their outstanding contributions to the society.
HNUST takes an active part in academic and cultural exchange and cooperation at home and abroad. The university has established scientific and educational cooperation with more than 20 foreign colleges and research institutions. It jointly established E&A College with Medicine Hat College in Canada in 2002 set up Confucius Institute in Troy University in America and established Italian Language Training and Testing Center.
The university is located in Qinhuangdao city which lies between the Bohai Sea on the south and Mt. Yanshan on the north neighboring Liaoning province on the east only two hours travel to Beijing by train. As a livable coastal city Qinhuangdao has a superb climate.
