In order to enhance NUST’s international influence, Nanjing Government and Nanjing University of Science & Technology have jointly set up the scholarship program to attract more outstanding international students to study with us.
1. Scholarship Type and coverage
1.1 For Postgraduates:
1) Full Postgraduate Scholarship covers:
i. Tuition (including laboratory experiments, Internship, and basic learning materials)
ii. On campus dormitory accommodation
Single room for PhD students
Double-bed room for Master degree student
iii. Living allowance:
CNY 2,000/month for PhD students
CNY 1,700/month for Master degree student
iv. Foreigner’s Comprehensive Medical Insurance (Group Insurance)
v. One-off settlement subsidy for new postgraduate after registration:
CNY 1,500
Note: By showing Family Membership Certificate issued by China Embassy or General Consulate, married postgraduates who carry with family members can ask for accommodation allowance from NUST. CNY18,000 per year for PhD students; CNY 9,000 per year for Master degree students.
2) Partial Postgraduate Scholarship covers:

ii. Foreigner’s Comprehensive Medical Insurance (Group Insurance)

2. Number of Scholarship Awardees
PhD Degree: Full scholarship 30, Partial scholarship 10;
Master Degree: Full scholarship 60, Partial scholarship 40;
Bachelor Degree: Full scholarship 120, Partial scholarship 60.
NOTE: Full scholarship for Bachelor degree only provides to applicants who apply for English taught program.
3. Duration of the Scholarships
PhD Students: 4 academic years
Master Degree Students: 2.5 academic years
Bachelor Degree Students: 4 academic years
NOTE:
1) Scholarship students must be reviewed annually for the academic performance and other performances. Scholarship will be terminated if the student fails to fulfill the requirements.
2) Applicants who have applied for Chinese instructed courses are required to provide either HSK certificate or official credential letter; otherwise one-year complementary Chinese Language course is added to the stated study period. The tuition of Chinese Language course is covered by scholarship.
4. Student Entry Requirement:
1) NMG-NUST Scholarship is opened to non-Chinese citizen and in good health
2) Education background and age limit:
For Bachelor degree: applicants have to be less than 28 years old, and obtain senior high school certificate;
For Master degree: applicants have to be less than 35 years old, and obtain bachelor degree certificate;
For Doctoral degree: applicants have to be less than 40 years old, and obtain Master degree certificate.
3) Applicants must obtain a competitive academic records and be pursuing a high demand.
i. Transcripts result must be 75% above
ii. Language Requirements:
Applicants who applied for English taught program must have IELTS score 5.5 above or TOFEL score 90 above;
Applicants who applied for Chinese taught programs must have HSK result above level 4.

6. How To Apply
Applicants have to complete both online application and mail hardcopy application material package to us.
If you cannot access online application, please download ‘Nanjing Municipal Government—Nanjing University of Science & Technology Joint Scholarship Program Scholarship Application Form 2015’ (download) and complete the form, mailing required application materials together with the application form to us. We highly suggest you complete online application, or your scholarship evaluation will be affected due to fail online application.
1. Online application
1) Apply online via http://admission.njust.edu.cn
2) Follow the instruction to fill out the information and upload scanned materials correspondingly.
2. Hardcopy application package should include:
1) Printed completion form of ‘Nanjing Municipal Government—Nanjing University of Science & Technology Joint Scholarship Program scholarship’. Applicants have to fill question 10, 11 by hand, and finish the form by signing signature and dates.
2) Copy of passport information page
3) Copy of officially issued previous education transcripts (original) and graduation certificates (photocopy). Languages other than Chinese or English have to be notarized into Chinese or English.
Bachelor degree applicants require to submit high school academic documents;
Master degree applicants require to submit high school and undergraduate academic documents;
PhD applicants require to submit high school, undergraduate and Master degree academic documents.
Note: If applicants are enrolled as current university student in China, they must also provide consent of university transfer letter from the university official department.
4) Language Proficiency Certificate
For English taught program applicants: copy IELTS certificate or TOFEL certificate.
For Chinese taught program applicants: copy of HSK certificate.
5) Motivation Letter/Research Plan
Motivation Letter for Undergraduate (no less than 800 words)
Reasons for your interest in the program you applied, including why you wish to study this program at NUST, your personal goals and ambitions and evidence of any previous activities or experiences (including voluntary activities) which demonstrates your commitment to those goals and ambitions.
Research plan for Postgraduate applicants (no less than 800 words)
Reasons for your interest in the program you applied, including why you wish to study this program, research plan and research field which relate to your future study at NUST, working experience, academic papers and self achievement that you have achieved before. Your personal goals and ambitions and evidence of any previous activities or experiences (including voluntary activities) which demonstrates your commitment to those goals and ambitions, your future target and goals after graduation also have to be mentioned.
6) Reference Letters
For Postgraduate applicants: please provide two supporting reference letters from professor or associate professor at your institution (in English or Chinese).
For undergraduate applicants: please provide two supporting reference letters from teachers at your high school (in English or Chinese).
NOTE: Contact number and email of the referral should be included in the letter.
7) Academic papers, academic achievements, and awards (if applicable).
8) Provisional Consent Form (download)
Postgraduate applicants are encouraged to contact relative professors who are willing to supervise their proposed study. ‘Provisional Consent Form’ is expected to be completed by the professor and enclose in application package. (Download)
9) Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (download) (printed by Chinese quarantine authority).
The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration as they plan to take the medical examination.

7. Result Confirmation
i. Applications will be evaluated and the result will be published on the related websites by the end of June, 2015.
ii. Scholarship winners will be notified via email, and following enrollment procedures will be informed via email.
CNY500 (￥500) fee (Scholarship evaluation fee & confirmation fee) is required to be paid.
8. Others
i.If the scholarship winner is diagnosed to have any disease that causes suspension on study leave, the student should return to home country at your own expenses. The scholarship position will be postponed for one year in maximum. However, living allowance will be ceased during these periods. Scholarship positions will not be granted for any other reasons which caused suspension on study leave.
