Differential fees are in effect for international students. Below is a typical budget for the academic year outlining approximate costs, which includes only basic budgeting items and does not include additional funds for travel, recreation, clothing and pocket money. All figures are based on the 2006-09 rates and may be subject to change.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.): RMB 18,000.00 or US dollars 2,300.00/one academic year
Bachelor of Science (B.S.): RMB 20,000.00 or US dollars 2,500.00/one academic year
- Graduate Programs:
Master of Arts (M.A.): RMB 20,000.00 or US dollars 2,500.00/one academic year
Master of Science (M.S.): RMB 22,000.00 or US dollars 2,750.00/one academic year
Note: The tuition standards may change according to the enrollment requirements, current conditions of teaching and learning, and personal needs of the admitted student.

Note # 1: The above charge for accommodation is on students who share a room in the dormitories for native students. The room is normally shared by 4 students. The room is equipped with beds, writing tables, chairs, wardrobes, bookcases, electric fan, bathroom, toilet, telephone, Internet port, and so on. Students need to get ready for daily life necessities including bed articles, computers, etc. and pay the bills for telephone, internet, water, electricity, etc. on their won.
Note # 2: International students may apply for a dorm room shared with native students if they wish to live together with Chinese students for the convenience of learning the Chinese language and Chinese culture.
Note # 3: International students may also apply for a single or double room in the International Students Apartment or the International Staff Apartment at a daily rate of RMB 80.00-120.00 or US dollars 10.00-15.00, exclusive of bills for telephone, internet, water, electricity, gas, etc. The apartment is equipped with one living room, one or two bed rooms, kitchen, bathroom, toilet, furniture, telephone, TV, Internet, washing machine and all other necessities for livelihood and study.
Note # 4: International students can rent a room off campus with the help of the admission staff with the Foreign Affairs Office.

Note: This fee is charged in advance. The exact fee depends on the actual expenditure on textbooks and other materials every academic year. The overpayment is refundable at the end of the academic year, and the insufficiency shall be deducted from the fee for those of the following academic.
- Insurance: RMB 350.00-800.00 (subject to change according to the contents and individual requirements)
- Graduation Fee: RMB 2,500.00 or US dollars 300.00 (graduation ceremony, if desired, is extra)
- Degree Program Change Fee: RMB 800.00 or US dollars 100.00
- Master's Degree Thesis Review Fee: RMB 7,200.00 or US dollars 900.00
- Fees are subject to change without notice.
- Candidates for graduation will not receive a diploma until all financial obligations have been paid in full.
- All funds are either in Chinese or U.S. currency. Tuition is payable in full upon registration. However, if this is not possible, other arrangements may be made with the University on an individual basis.
- Transcripts will not be issued to students with outstanding balances on their accounts.
- Students enrolled in some courses in certain faculties may have additional expenses for tuition, fieldwork, materials and/or instruments.
- Scholarship funding for international students is limited and highly competitive. International students should not depend on scholarships and bursaries to pay their costs while at university.
